Ranked Africa is a pre-launch competitive gaming platform. This site is currently an informational marketing site and an application intake for the Nigeria Founding Season. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights. If anything here is unclear, contact us using the details below.
Information we collect
When you message us on WhatsApp to register your interest, we collect only what we need to assess your interest and contact you:
- Your WhatsApp number and the details you choose to share in the conversation
- Display name and gamertag / platform identity
- Platform (PS5, Xbox or PC)
- City and state (identity metadata — not an eligibility rule)
- Competitive experience and availability
- An email address, only if you are shortlisted and we invite you to register
We do not ask for EA or console account passwords, government identification, home addresses or payment information. Please do not send them.
Why we collect it
- To assess and shortlist applicants for the Founding Season.
- To contact shortlisted players about next steps.
- With your separate, optional consent, to send you Ranked Africa updates.
Operational contact (about your application) is separate from optional marketing updates. You can opt into marketing without affecting your application.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of third-party processors to run this site:
- WhatsApp (Meta) — carries the conversation when you message us. Your use of WhatsApp is also subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy terms.
- Hosting (Vercel) — serves this website.
- Privacy-friendly analytics — if enabled, we use a cookie-free, aggregate analytics tool that does not track you across sites.
Cookies
This site does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Any analytics used is cookie-free and aggregate, so we do not show a cookie-consent banner because there are no non-essential cookies to consent to.
Retention
We keep application data only as long as needed to run the Founding Season and, where you consented, to send you updates. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
- Ask what data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct it.
- Ask us to delete it.
- Withdraw marketing consent at any time.
